1986 Arabian mare Sensation Al Z x Juda
Windfalls are such lovely things.
In late December of 2004, in the fifty-three degree 'chill' of Calaveras County, where I found myself immersed in an immense crowd on the patio overlooking the auction house viewing pavilion, I had perhaps one of the loveliest of them all. When I purchased Ejaz in 2002, he was out of a broodmare that I had selected on a bit of a whim. Before me, in California, she was walked into the ring. I had expected her to have remained in North Carolina - but after getting over the shock, I met the asking price, and within a course of five minutes, was handed her papers. Al Shahlea is a very, very quiet and shy mare who, at a refined twenty-one, has retired well to the broodmare pastures, content to let her children receive their (quite necessary) glory.
ACHIEVEMENTS None to date.
